VABODE as a practice only hires Licensed or Qualified Mental Health Professionals for direct care positions. Eligible candidates posses both knowledge, skill, and experience. Thorough backgrounds investigation, reference check for all previous employers in relevant positions, and personality and or psychological evaluation is required during the employment process.

 

"Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP)" means a physician, licensed clinical psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner, or certification as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist.

 

"Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)" means a clinician in the health professions who is trained and experienced in providing psychiatric or mental health services to individuals who have a psychiatric diagnosis; including a (i) physician: a doctor of medicine or osteopathy; (ii) psychiatrist: a doctor of medicine or osteopathy, specializing in psychiatry and licensed in Virginia; (iii) psychologist: an individual with a master's degree in psychology from a college or university with at least one year of clinical experience; (iv) social worker: an individual with at least a bachelor's degree in human services or related field (social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, human services counseling or other degree deemed equivalent to those described) from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience providing direct services to persons with a diagnosis of mental illness; (v) Registered Psychiatric Rehabilitation Provider (RPRP) registered with

the International Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (IAPSRS); (vi) registered nurse licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia with at least one year of clinical experience; or (vii) any other licensed mental health professional.

 

"Qualified Mental Retardation Professional (QMRP)" means an individual possessing at least one year of documented experience working directly with individuals who have mental retardation or other developmental disabilities and is one of the following: a doctor of medicine or osteopathy, a registered nurse, or holds at least a bachelor's degree in a human services field including, but not limited to, sociology, social work, special education, rehabilitation counseling, and psychology.

Supervised by: Program Director

Responsibilities: Provides Services (Training and Reinforcement of activities of daily living, Case Management, Documentation of Services, and Crisis Response (On-Call) in Mental Health Supportive In-Home Services for Young and Mature Adults; Manages a caseload of 1-6 Clients; Maintains the 24/7 on-call response to clients; Provides Direct Contact Services to all assigned clients; Participates in Staff Development; Completes Program Participants Services Documentation; Performs services according to services definition in accordance with state and federal regulations.  

Service Definition: Mental health support services are training and support to enable individuals with significant functional limitations to achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment. While there is no age restriction for this service, the treatment focus is on assisting the client with independent living skills and is therefore appropriate for older adolescents and adults.  Will provide training in or reinforcement of functional skills and appropriate behavior related to the individual’s health and safety, ADLs, and use of community resources; assistance with medication management, and monitoring health, nutrition, and physical condition. 

Minimal Qualifications: QMHP with degree in human services field.

Responsibilities: Provides Services (Counseling, Case Management, Documentation of Services, and Crisis Response (On-Call) in Intensive In-Home Services for Children and Adolescents program; Manages a caseload of 1-6 Clients; Maintains the 24/7 on-call response to clients; Provides Direct Contact Services to all assigned clients; Participates in Staff Development; Completes Program Participants Services Documentation; Performs services according to preferred method of direct-In-home therapy with the client and family, services definition, and accordance with state and federal regulations.  

Service Definition: Services include: crisis treatment, individual and family counseling, communication skills counseling (to assist the child and parents in practicing appropriate problem-solving, anger management, interpersonal interaction, etc.), case management activities, coordination with other required services, and 24-hour emergency response. 

Minimal Qualifications: QMHP with approved Degree in Human Services Field and experience.

Responsibilities: Provides Services (Counseling, Case Management, Documentation of Services, Behavior Management and Crisis Response (On-Call) in School and After-School settings for Children and Adolescents; Manages a caseload of 1-6 Clients; Maintains the 24/7 on-call response to clients; Provides Direct Contact Services to all assigned clients to their family and support systems; Participates in Staff Development; Completes Program Participants Services Documentation; Performs services according to preferred method of therapy with the client and family and services definition taught at VABODE, and in accordance with state and federal regulations.  

Service Definition: Services include: behavioral support and crisis intervention, individual and family counseling, psycho educational activities, communication and interpersonal reinforcements, counseling (to assist the child and parents in practicing appropriate problem-solving, anger management, interpersonal interaction, etc.), case management activities, coordination with school, medical and other services providers, and 24-hour emergency response. 

Minimal Qualifications: QMHP with degree in human services field.

Responsibilities: Provides Services (Psycho-Therapy, Case Management, Documentation of Services, and Crisis Response (On-Call) in VABODE Behavioral Health and Wellness Centers; Manages a caseload of 1-25 Clients; Maintains the 24/7 on-call response to clients; Provides Direct Contact Services to all assigned clients; Participates in Staff Development; Completes Program Participants Services Documentation; Performs services according to preferred method individual, group, and family therapy at VABODE, services definition, and accordance with state and federal regulations.  

Service Definition: Services include: group, individual and family counseling, psycho educational groups such as anger management, substance abuse education, and parenting skills. 24-hour emergency response for assigned cases.
